The Centre for Musculoskeletal Medicine, which covers orthopaedic and traumatology disciplines, brings patients the opportunity to have an examination, outpatient surgery and superior pain relief therapies all in one place. AGEL Bánovce Hospital built the modern workplace on the second floor of the building, using the premises of orthopaedics and partly of diabetology, with the preservation of the private diabetology outpatient clinic.

AGEL Bánovce Hospital officially launched the operation of the modern Centre for Treatment of the Musculoskeletal System at the beginning of September. “It is a comprehensive workplace with a team of experienced doctors – orthopaedic surgeons and a traumatologist. We decided to build it mainly because of the constantly growing number of patients with musculoskeletal disorders, who, thanks to the new workplace, can undergo almost all the necessary examinations in one place – even the radiology department can be reached just by passing through the corridor,” explained the director of AGEL Bánovce Hospital PhDr. MUDr. Mina Bobocká, MBA, MPH. In addition to the examination itself, patients can also undergo outpatient procedures, painless shock wave therapy, trijalux or infusion therapy. “Work started in the first quarter of 2024. The renovation began with the demolition of a door, which connected the new space to the existing orthopedic outpatient clinic. We continued with the renovation of the floors and walls, and the workplace is equipped with new furniture, air conditioners and necessary medical equipment,” said Ing. Vladimír Záborský, Head of the Department of Economics, Technical and Operational Activities of AGEL Bánovce Hospital. The modern workplace is intended for patients suffering from diseases of the skeletal system, injuries and fractures of bones or other difficulties related to the spine and musculoskeletal system. Within the centre, orthopaedists MUDr. Marián Nosáľ, MUDr. Marián Nemec, MUDr. Viliam Laudon and MUDr. Ondrej Hatala practice according to a predetermined schedule, and traumatologist MUDr. Michal Briatka, who deals with injuries and chronic as well as acute problems of the knee joints, also practices every Thursday. The centre has a surgery room designed for outpatient procedures and also superior instrumentation. Patients can thus undergo treatment with the Trijalux device, which combines radiofrequency simulation, ultrasound pressure waves and 10 Hz stimulation, combined with hyaluronic acid application and is used primarily for the treatment of arthropathies, but also the painless shock wave with diathermy, which is particularly suitable for back, joint and muscle pain, heel spurs, carpal tunnel and tennis elbow problems. Infusion therapy is also administered directly at the workplace in indicated cases on the doctor’s recommendation. Patients can inquire or make an appointment for an examination daily from 7:00 to 8:00 a.m. and from 1:00 to 2:30 p.m. at tel. 038/762 42 72.
