When am I entitled to the child benefit supplement?

You are entitled to the supplement to the allowance for as long as you are receiving benefits for the child.

The supplement may be received by an eligible person who must:

  • Being the parent of a dependent child or a person to whom the child is entrusted by a final court decision,
  • Being in receipt of an old-age pension, early retirement pension, invalidity pension (with a reduction in earning capacity of more than 70 %), retirement pension or pension benefit of the same kind abroad,
  • Neither the entitled person nor the other natural person (e.g. the other parent, the other surrogate parent or the spouse of a parent who is not the parent of the dependent child, if they live in the household with the dependent child) may be gainfully employed and receive the tax bonus for the dependent child.

Attention!

If more than one person is entitled to the allowance, only one of them can receive it.
