Caring for seniors whose health has suddenly deteriorated can be challenging and stressful for families. That’s where the SeniorBox project comes in, designed to support families and loved ones caring for the elderly. This project offers packages full of essential items and information to make everyday care for seniors easier.

Who are the SeniorBox packages for?

SeniorBox packages are primarily intended for families of seniors whose health condition has unexpectedly or seriously deteriorated, for example due to a stroke, accident or other health deterioration. These packages provide the necessary products and information to help families in challenging situations.

Where do families get a SeniorBox package?

The distribution of SeniorBoxes takes place in hospitals and clinics all over Slovakia. Thanks to the cooperation of more than 130 philanthropic companies and volunteers, as many as 21 000 SeniorBoxes worth € 970 000 have been prepared since 2015. This public benefit project is covered by the award-winning long-term care centres, namely the Nursing Centre and the Social Services Facility Slnečný dom in Humenne.

What can you find in the SeniorBox packages?

SeniorBox packages contain a variety of products and information necessary for the care of seniors. One of the main features is the publication“How to care for a loved one“, which contains a wealth of advice and tips for everyday care. This publication also includes a checklist to help with home checks and ensure that nothing important is forgotten. The publication is compiled from the practical experience of nursing staff and provides useful information and suggestions for solutions for everyday situations.
